Strange Skies of the Vermilon River. A Post to SkyWatch.

The reflection turned the aspen (popular) pink.
I don't know that there is any particular name for this, but a blue sky late in the day turned gray creating this band of pink with a hot spot on one side. An intense pastel pink band formed opposite the sky in photo 1 and was so strong the trees turned pink in the reflection. The bands are electric wires which I did not remove.

  1. An interesting effect, one never knows how the light will reflect and refract at the ends of the day. I guess that is why we are sky watchers.

  5. These images remind me of some of the intense pink and orange we see on the pines across the field when the sun sets strongly. It's beautiful, looking almost like they are on fire. Great photos.

  7. Due to the pink color lighting effect, the tree shown in the second photo looks like coral reef!
