Black-capped Chickadees in the Wind of the Vermilon River. A Post to My World Tuesday.

These little guys are strong on courage when they leave the woods just south of me to come to my feeders that lack shelter.

  2. Amazing photos, Gary, with the wind ruffling the feathers like that. I love chickadees. I've seen many of them in western Alberta but none here in the southeast.
Your feeders must be irresistible for them to leave shelter in such a wind.

  6. They are cute and tough, choosing to winter in cold climates.
You’re right, my images were of kids, there were lambs but the kids are cuter. I’m not sure about the last image, kid or lamb.

  12. Beautiful pictures of one of my favorite birds. Cheeky little things that they are.

You asked about the common redpolls. I have seen more, including some males. But, they're at a feeder now that I can only see through a screened window, and I can't get decent pictures.
