Female Hairy Woodpecker of the Vermilon River. A Post to My World Tuesday.

Not to be out done by the Chickadees, this female Hairy Woodpecker wanted to show off her acrobatic skills. Remember she can use that tail to balance herself. What do you think? Another 10...

I think between the Chickadee and the woodpecker, we've got a super team.

    now to the olympics this tandem go. i have seen a woodpecker just once, and he's high up in the tree pecking his beak out.

    That's awesome - she is an amazing acrobat. Sometimes I want to put out a bird feeder just to watch and photograph the birds.

    It amazes me as I sit and watch the suet feeder how all the birds just hang on.
