Still More Colour and Wildlife of The Vermilon River.

The weather has been perfect, sunny with temperatures at about 19 C, say 70 F. This is about to change as it's raining now and tomorrow the big drop comes. The temperature will be about 10 C, in the 40's F. Yes there will be snow in the north tomorrow, but it won't stay. I guess that means Indian summer is over. All these photos were shot on the west side of the River, and it was wonderful.

The Pine Siskens are in, another sign of fall. The Siskens were a flock of fifty vigorously feeding on some cedars in an area between the River and wetland.  I was trying to photograph a Snipe which I'll show later and the Siskens when the Otters showed up. I thought they were going to splash me, when I ignored them so here they are.

The first series of photos are of the colours in the River,Wood Ducks, and a male Hairy Woodpecker.

THERE ARE A LOT OF PHOTOS, SO CLICK ON A SHOT AND ENJOY THE SLIDE SHOW.

A post to: Sky Watch Friday.

I'm still having trouble getting into some sites. I think because of blogger.

  4. The top two are very lovely abstracts. Specially like the second one. Although we have otters in England, I've never seen any outside captivity. Their heads above the water remind me of seals - which I have seen.

  40. Your posts are always so full of eye candy, it's hard to choose what to comment on! But I always love the critters, and I swoon over fall foliage and am especially smitten with photos of reflections in water. So, my favorites in this wonderful collection are "Colours in the River" and the two photos of the Wood Ducks on the water with the reflections of the trees and changing leaves reflected. Gorgeous!! But all your photos are terrific, as usual!
