I'm also still trying to deal with a gray winter sky which we get often, and which I rather like. By the way rock outcroppings or little islands are common in the Vermilon. The river, in a rather laid back, but relentless manner just flows around them gradually, wearing them away, at the sametime making small quiet lakes, perfect for wildlife.
A Post to Watery Wednesday.
Both scenes are beautiful to my eyes, Gary. Although the sky is grey, the light appears to be fairly bright in both pictures, I like the contrast of the stones, the evergreens and the snow.
ReplyDeleteTo EGWow: Thanks for the compliments. I actually like the gray sky and the bright snow.
ReplyDeleteThey are both so pretty. Great capture.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful snow pics! Have a Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanette: Thanks for the kind words and visit.
ReplyDeleteyou like that grey sky? Can be nice sometimes but not on a daily basis. I like the rough terrain. Gives life to nature.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful landscape photos! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year.
I enjoy looking at those beautiful winter scenes, not necessarily hike through them as you must have been doing to get them. I bet Boomer enjoys going out into the snow with you.
ReplyDeleteHi Hilke: You bet Boomer likes it but now that he's older he's not so keen on breaking trail.
ReplyDeleteTo Y. Ikeda: A great compliment in view of your excellent moody photos.
ReplyDeleteTo NatureFootstep: Yes I like the gray sky, because as I said the snow brightens it;so,the light source is at the bottom of the photo not the top.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images Gary. I love the colour of the rocks and the grey sky. Please note the correct spelling in English of the words colour and grey. Great photos of a beautiful landscape. I wish you all the best for 2011.
ReplyDeleteGosh Andrew I stand corrected on grey. Color is of course the US spelling of the English colour.
ReplyDeleteI have other photos which I will post later. I think the snow almost provides the light, and I find that interesting. I am trying to depict my view of this forest of ours.
I think your landscape shots are very good! It shows all that you wanted it to.
ReplyDeleteTo Mary: Thanks for the kind words and visit.
