A Stormy Sun Rise |
Another Uneasy Sky |
See that incredible blue. |
Now overcast days or as I call them gray days are frequent and two days ago we actually had rain with temperatures above 0. The resultant ice has somewhat cramped Boom's and my travels. So I concentrated this week on skies, and got more dark skies. Hope you enjoy them.
I included the last photo, I don't usually shoot planes, to show you that skies are not always gray.

I think grey days can be good photo opportunities too.

Love your uneasy skies and the wonderful contrast of intense blue in the last photo!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful back light on top. Also like the framing in the bottom shot.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant photos.
ReplyDeletethe blue sky is wonderful. we have been blessed with a week of continuous dry sunny days, mild for winter.
ReplyDeleteLike Gemma, I love the phrase "uneasy skies"! Your photos are super, Gary.

They have to be, JBar, I'm in them so often.
ReplyDeleteTo GreyScale Territory:The intense blue lasted for a day and then back to overcast gray. Thanks for the visit.
ReplyDeleteTo JM: Thanks for the compliments, and the visit.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob, but I don't know about brillant.
ReplyDeleteTo Ewok:You're lucky to have the blue sky.
ReplyDeleteTo Kay: Uneasy has an "iffy" ring to it doesn't it. And, we got rain in the middle of winter.
ReplyDeleteThey look a lot like my skies, actually nicer than mine. We saw blue yesterday but now our back the usual low clouds and fog that predominate this time of year.
ReplyDeleteThat was one day of blue Martha. It's a good thing I like gray. Thanks for the visit.
ReplyDeleteLovely skies - the drama in the first couple, and that lovely blue sky. We have mostly clear days with an occasional snowstorm in the winter here too, but rain in December or January would probably herald the end of the world!
ReplyDeleteWe always did get a bit of a thaw in January, but rain you're right is crazy here, but maybe not the end of the world. Thanks for the visit and kind words.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat atmosphere
To Rimkogeren: Thanks for the visit and kind words.
ReplyDeleteHaha, in the last photo which is my favorite, you DID provide solid evidence that the skies are not always gray!!
ReplyDeleteGreat capture of the airplane and rising sun.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Yoshi
I felt obligated to provide that proof Yoshi, but you caught the humour in it.
ReplyDeleteI think the gray skies are beautiful. Love the tree silhouettes in the first one Gary.
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of the stormy sky! Greetings!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures very well composed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind comments Andrew.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ola. I like active shies also.
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen and glad I found your blog again.
ReplyDeleteGary, we have had a lot of grey skies here too. Sometimes the sun is out (if we're really, really lucky) for an hour or two just after dawn, then thick clouds cover the sun for the rest of the day.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteTo Mama Zen: Thanks for the kind words.
ReplyDeleteTo EG Wow: Gray is the new winter colour in Ontario.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots. Love the variety.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rajesh for the comments.
