Fall Scenes, Berries, Fireweed,BlueJays, Crows, Cat Bird, Sparrows and Red Squirrels. A Post to SWF.

West River Wetland.
We're just into another five days of overcast skies with some rain, although not enough; damp stuff that lets you know where every ache and pain hides in your body. The weekends brighten up so most of these pictures were taken then. There's no rhyme or reason to this post ; just a celebration of nature at its best. The Cat Bird by the way is related to the Mocking Bird and gets its name from the mewling sound it makes before it launches into its imitation of other bird calls. Fire Weed is the bright pink plant that I showed earlier. The seed is just like silk. A Post to SWF @ http://skyley.blogspot.com/

  2. The picture of the Canada Goose landing was wonderful, and I just loved the pictures of the Blue Jay and the Posing Squirrel -- porky little buggers, both of them.

By the way, I understand all too well what you mean about the damp finding every place that aches in your body. I can't wait until the crisp cold of Winter.

  3. Beautiful shots with the color. Love the catbird. We get a few through here during migration but they are not too common.

  10. Lovely images Gary... The weather is all over the place here at the moment. Today was the hottest September day since 1895 in the UK.
Reports of spring flowers appearing while the autumn colours arrive on the trees.... A weird year I am having...

  12. Definitely starting to look autumnal down your way Gary. Like Andrew says we are in a mini heatwave here in the UK at the moment which is strange when most of the leaves are gone from the trees.

  20. Hi Gary & Boomer too,
Every time I visit I experience your Postings as an adventure...

The opening photo invites... the remaining photos and words takes me on a Journey...
    Thoroughly enjoyable and informative.

And alas... the Blogger Team & Google have taken away the wonderful slide-show thingy,
But... it is still so worth taking the time to see each of your photos enlarged... wonderful experience.

SKF Visitors get to see the Landscape and Wildlife your Sky Photos grace.

Thank you and good wishes from Magda and Family in Australia
