Fall Scenes, Berries, Fireweed,BlueJays, Crows, Cat Bird, Sparrows and Red Squirrels. A Post to SWF.

West River Wetland.
We're just into another five days of overcast skies with some rain, although not enough; damp stuff that lets you know where every ache and pain hides in your body. The weekends brighten up so most of these pictures were taken then. There's no rhyme or reason to this post ; just a celebration of nature at its best. The Cat Bird by the way is related to the Mocking Bird and gets its name from the mewling sound it makes before it launches into its imitation of other bird calls. Fire Weed is the bright pink plant that I showed earlier. The seed is just like silk. A Post to SWF @

  1. Such beauty out in the wild! Love all your critters!

  2. The picture of the Canada Goose landing was wonderful, and I just loved the pictures of the Blue Jay and the Posing Squirrel -- porky little buggers, both of them.

By the way, I understand all too well what you mean about the damp finding every place that aches in your body. I can't wait until the crisp cold of Winter.

  3. Beautiful shots with the color. Love the catbird. We get a few through here during migration but they are not too common.

  4. That last squirrel shot is really cute!

  5. Delightful photos, really enjoy the way nature puts on wonderful shows for us to enjoy, thanks for sharing with SWF

  6. Great shots for SWF!I love the squirrel photos! So cute!
    Have a nice weekend!

  7. You do live in such a beautiful part of our world and I'm so glad you share it with the rest of us! Nature does indeed put on wonderful shows for us with the coming of each season and you capture them so beautifully! Love all the critters and beautiful birds, the rapids, rivers and skies! Have a beautiful weekend, Gary!

  8. You have already plenty of autumn colours. .
Your squirrel has different ears than ours :)
Excellent photos again in your post.

  9. Autumn is so beautiful with all these colours! I love it, and I love your photos!

  10. Lovely images Gary... The weather is all over the place here at the moment. Today was the hottest September day since 1895 in the UK.
Reports of spring flowers appearing while the autumn colours arrive on the trees.... A weird year I am having...

  11. Looks like you have some pretty falls colors there. Beautiful photos and I love all the birds.
Happy skywatching and have a great weekend!

  12. Definitely starting to look autumnal down your way Gary. Like Andrew says we are in a mini heatwave here in the UK at the moment which is strange when most of the leaves are gone from the trees.

  13. These are all fantastic shots. I love the show nature puts on this time of year.

  14. What wonderful autumn colours! And a playful squirrel. Hope the aches and pains go away!

  15. Fall is settling in to your neck of the woods with all the promise of splendid colours. Love those squirrels

  16. Oh your leaves are changing faster than here in the south Gary!

  17. Looks like you're starting to get some colour in your trees up your way too! This is a wonderufl collection of photos, thanks for sharing!

  18. Great series. You have that nice autumn color. I think that last one is my favorite, so cute:-)

  19. such wonderful photos, each and every one!

  20. Hi Gary & Boomer too,
Every time I visit I experience your Postings as an adventure...

The opening photo invites... the remaining photos and words takes me on a Journey...
    Thoroughly enjoyable and informative.

And alas... the Blogger Team & Google have taken away the wonderful slide-show thingy,
But... it is still so worth taking the time to see each of your photos enlarged... wonderful experience.

SKF Visitors get to see the Landscape and Wildlife your Sky Photos grace.

Thank you and good wishes from Magda and Family in Australia
