This week was characterized by the struggle between fall and winter, with winter the winner. That fact meant only one hike, and with any luck the potential of one more hike this week on Friday, which may be sunny, or at worst overcast. The red has faded in the forest, although the gold is still prominent. The lighting was poor as the opposite photo shows. This week's find was the Ruffled Grouse in full regalia.
